ROAD BIKING IN THE PROVINCE OF SALZBURG
Those travelling by road bike get to experience a diversity of cycling tours throughout the region. Choose from over 70 road bike tours according to individual skill level and taste. Some routes run straight through St. Veit allowing you to start directly from your Hotel Metzgerwirt. One such tour leads you to the foot of the Hochkönig, from where you have a breathtaking view of Mandlwände.
FAMILY TOURS IN THE REGION
Many relaxing and scenically inviting cycling trails await families with children in the surrounding area. The e-bike with a small electric motor also helps adults to conquer more difficult sections and brings you one step closer to the Hochkönig. Rent bicycles, mountain bikes and e-bikes at Intersport Pointner in Schwarzach, only 3-km-away. There’s also a charging station for e-bikes directly in the hotel.
TAUERN CYCLE PATH AND ALPE ADRIA CYCLING TRAIL
If you’re planing a cycling trip, the Metzgerwirt in St. Veit is the right address. For example, the Tauern Cycle Path, a border-crossing bike trail that runs from Krimml in the province of Salzburg to the three-river town Passau in Bavaria, runs at the left shore of the Salzach river, starting in Schwarzach. Furthermore, the Alpe Adria Cycling Trial, which leads from the Mozart city of Salzburg to Grado in Italy over around eight stages in approx. a week, runs along the Salzach in St. Veit. You’re only 2.5 km away from the Metzgerwirt. A brief detour allows you to enjoy all amenities the Metzgerwirt has in store for you.
